a medical update

medical update:
had a contrast CAT scan yesterday....the one where you drink the barium stuff the night before and then during the scan they inject radioactive iodine in your veins...that's the weirdest stuff, you feel the heat start in your arms and then it moves up your arm and down your neck and chest to the groin. you feel all HOT and it feels like you just pissed yourself! lol ... probably won't get the results til i go to the doctor next week. had a regular CAT scan two weeks ago and i was looking at the forms yesterday for that one that i was to give to the tech for my new one. under diagnosis it said:
Chronic Lymphadenitis
(Lymph Node Infection, Lymph Gland Infection, Lymph Node Inflammation, Lymph Gland Inflammation)
i had never even heard of this before so of course had to come home and research it on the internet! here's part of what it said:
Definition
Chronic lymphadenitis is the inflammation of a lymph node. The inflammation can last for a prolonged period of time. Lymph nodes are part of the immune system. This system fights and prevents infections. The lymph nodes job is to filter out unwanted substances, such as bacteria and viruses, and help eliminate them from the body.

Lymph nodes occur in clusters in the neck, arm pits, and groin. Chronic lymphadenitis may affect one node, several nodes in one area (regional), or nodes in many areas of the body (general).

The sooner chronic lymphadenitis is treated, the more favorable the outcome. If you suspect you have this condition, contact your doctor immediately.

i read some other things about it and it said i can cause chronic abdominal pain..which i have! as well as venous problems in the abdomen, which i have. so i don't know if they are saying i do have this or if it is just a diagnosis they are trying to rule out. i'm trying not to jump to any conclusions and just wait until i see dr. w, my hemotologist to see for sure.

i went to dr. a, my pain doc today and they said i should have a surgery date by friday to repair my spinal cord stimulator. i've been waiting for this so long so here's hoping they finally schedule this and do it!!! it will involove cutting me in three places and leaving me with three fairly large incisions so the healing process could be tough, but it'll be worth it to get the stim working again! so *crossing fingers* i get the date on friday!
